Prepare to receive USDC

Rewards are sent onchain in USDC, a crypto asset designed to maintain the same value as the US dollar. To receive them, you need an address for a wallet that supports USDC.

  • Match the network:USDC exists on multiple blockchains. Always check that the network specified on the request screen matches the network supported by your receiving wallet or exchange. Funds sent on the wrong network may be unrecoverable.
  • If using an exchange address:Check in advance that the exchange accepts USDC deposits on the specified network.
  • If using a self-custody wallet:Never share your private key or seed phrase. Do not provide it even if someone claiming to represent Propr or support asks for it.
  • Check the address after pasting:Compare the first and last few characters before submitting your request.

Rewards are processed within 24 hours of the request, and the transfer record can be verified on the blockchain.

Tax considerations

This section outlines issues that residents of Japan should consider when receiving rewards. It does not provide individual tax determinations. Income classification and filing requirements depend on your other income and trading circumstances.

  • Records when receiving rewards:Record the receipt date and time, the amount of USDC and its yen value at that time. Retain the onchain transfer record (transaction hash) as well so you can verify it later.
  • When converting USDC to yen or another currency:If the yen value differs between receipt and conversion, the difference may constitute a separate gain or loss. Japan's National Tax Agency explains that income from selling crypto assets is generally classified as miscellaneous income.
  • Expense records:Record the date and amount of entry fee payments and any other related costs. Whether they can be treated as deductible expenses depends on your circumstances.
  • Where to seek advice:Check National Tax Agency materials, then consult a tax office or tax professional about whether you need to file a return and how the income should be classified.
