Where should I look after placing an order?

Positions shows holdings, Open Orders shows unfilled orders, Trade History shows completed trades, and Funding History shows funding payments. Canceling an order does not remove positions that have already filled.

What to check after ordering

  1. NotificationWas the order accepted? Is there an error?
  2. Open OrdersAre any unfilled orders still open?
  3. PositionsPosition size and unrealized P&L. Also check here for partial fills.
  4. Trade HistoryActual fill price, size and fees.
Canceling and closing are different actions

Canceling withdraws an order that has not yet filled. It does not close an existing position, so check Positions after canceling.

FAQ: Propr positions and order history

Q

I placed an order, but Positions is empty.

ACheck Open Orders for an unfilled order and Trade History for a fill record. Also read the screen notification.

Q

If I cancel an order, does the position disappear too?

ANo. Canceling withdraws an unfilled order. Check holdings in Positions and close them separately.

Q

Where can I see the actual fill price?

AIn Trade History. It may differ from your entered limit or the price you saw on the screen.
